Driver's License
Walk-in service available as schedule allows.
If you have an expired (or soon to expire) driver’s license and wish to upgrade to the REAL ID or Enhanced Driver's License.

Appointments strongly recommended, one customer per an appointment is allowed; walk-in service available at Chanhassen Service Center as schedule allows.
Passport processing is available at the Carver County Government Center and Chanhassen Service Center.

End of Day Process
In order to ensure all customers are served by the end of business day, transactions will be monitored accordingly. This time is adjusted daily according to complexity of transactions and customer wait times. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. The end of day process is supported only at Chanhassen Service Center and Chaska License Center.
Driver's License and ID Changes coming in 2025
Until May 2025 your standard driver’s license or ID card is acceptable for domestic air travel, access to most federal facilities and remains valid for identification and lawful driving privileges. Payment Options
Our service centers accept the following types of payment for services:
- Cash
- Check or Money Order ("checks payable to" varies by location)
- Credit cards (Convenience fee of 2.15%)
- Accepted: Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card and American Express
