To initiate the process the County submitted all of the ordinances to be codified to American Legal Publishing, the company retained to do the codification.  ALP then proceeded to develop a draft code that combined the ordinances into a single document.  As part of the codification process, the language in the various ordinances was standardized and updated to modern terms where necessary.  References to Rules and Statutes were also changed where necessary.  These changes were made by attorneys and editorial staff at American Legal Publishing.

The following link leads to a site maintained by American Legal Publishing that contains the entire County Code:  https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/carvercounty/latest/overview

Copies of the Code are in the County Libraries and the County Law Library or can be purchased at the Public Services Division, located on the main floor of the Government Center.

Ordinance 51  is the ordinance that accomplishes the codification.
