If you are visiting www.mnvotes.gov to track the status of your absentee ballot after November 5, 2024, you will see a red alert that a ballot was not found.  That is because the election is over.  If you continue scrolling down past the red banner you will see a statement regarding the November 5, 2024, election and if your ballot was counted.  Please note www.mnvotes.gov is not maintained by Carver County and we cannot make changes to these messages.

Absentee voting

All eligible voters in Carver County can vote early by absentee either in person or by mail.  

Absentee voting for the 2024 Elections:

  • Presidential Nomination Primary:  Begins January 19, 2024
  • State Primary: Begins June 28, 2024
  • State General: Begins September 20, 2024

In Person Absentee Voting:

All residents can come to the Government Center in Chaska at 600 E 4th St.

Wednesday October 20 - Friday November 1:  8:00am-4:30pm
Saturday November 2:  9:00am-3:00pm
Sunday November 3:  9:00am-3:00pm
Monday November 4:  8:00am-5:00pm

Waconia City residents ONLY can vote at Waconia City Hall at 201 S Vine St.

Wednesday October 20 - Thursday October 31:  7:30am-4:30pm
Friday November 1:  7:30am-11:30am
Saturday November 2:  9:00am-3:00pm

Curbside Voting Available

If you cannot easily leave your vehicle for mobility reasons or because you prefer to avoid contact with others as a health precaution, you can ask to have your ballot brought out to your car. Two election judges from different major political parties must bring the ballot to your vehicle. If you would like to do curbside voting, please contact the Election Department at (952) 361-1941.
