Our Vision: One Construction Project
Carver County and its project partners have secured 87% of the funding needed to construct the Highway 5 improvements project.
The County is committed to obtaining the funding needed to complete the project before construction starts in fall 2025.
Closing the Funding Gap
State and federal assistance is necessary to begin constructing the project in 2025. Without a federal award to support this investment, there is a high probability that the project will experience delays and need to be constructed in separate phases. That means local residents, businesses, and commuters would experience major impacts over a longer period of time, including an increase in crashes and congestion and impactful closures and bottlenecks over the next decade or more.
Constructing these improvements as one project will more quickly and cost-effectively improve travel conditions; address safety; improve environmental protections; and create better connections between local destinations.
Hear from community leaders why it is important to build a better Highway 5 through Chanhassen, Chaska, and Victoria.
