County Breaks Ground on Connect Up Carver Project
When the COVID-19 pandemic showed both the importance of high-speed internet and some communities' lack of such access, Carver County’s Board of Commissioners and staff recognized an opportunity. That resulted in Connect Up Carver, which broke ground in early August.

County's "AAA" Bond Rating Reaffirmed by Standard & Poor's
Carver County recently received a “AAA” bond rating from Standard and Poor’s, confirming the County’s long-held top financial rating. The rating comes from bonds reimbursed the County for its temporary use of cash reserves to acquire what is now the Steiner Kelting Mental Wellness facility in 2017.

County To Connect All Residents, Businesses to Broadband Internet Access
The Board of Commissioners approved a bid from Metronet in support of its CarverLink Fiber Network “Connect Up Carver” broadband internet initiative. The project's public funding portion comes from Federal stimulus dollars.

County Fifth in Nation In Latest US News Healthiest Communities Ranking
Carver County moved up to fifth in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of the nation’s healthiest counties. This marks the highest position in the ranking for Carver County, or for any Minnesota county, in the fifth annual rankings, presented in collaboration with CVS Health.

Board of Commissioners Approves Levy, Budget For 2022
The Carver County Board of Commissioners approved the County’s 2022 levy and budget at its December 14 regular meeting. The levy and budget mean the property taxes on an average value home ($374,000) increase by 3.0% in 2022, or $37 annually.
