The Parks and Recreation Director supervises the personnel and activities of the Parks Department.  The Director plans, develops, administers, and operates the Carver County Park System.  This position is responsible for current and long range planning projects, development projects, parks operations, maintenance programs, recreation programs, land acquisition, and plans/evaluates the parks and trails system. 

Sam Pertz - Parks & Trails Supervisor

The Parks & Trails Supervisor provides leadership in the areas of communications, park operations, events, and recreation programming.  Administrative responsibilities include supervision, contract management, budgeting, project coordination, public engagement, and public review processes.

Parks & Natural Resources Supervisor

The Parks & Natural Resources Supervisor oversees the administration, budgeting, and management of the parks and trails system.  This includes management of maintenance personnel, built, and natural resources, as well as providing support and coordination with park operations, recreation services, and administration.

Micah Ostergard - Recreation & Volunteer Specialist

The Recreation & Volunteer Specialist focuses on recreation programming and special events offered by the Parks Department, specifically in development, marketing/advertising, facilitation, and budgeting.  Volunteer coordination includes outreach, organization, and logistics as well as facilitation of events and activities. 

Jessica Kurschner - Recreation Program Educator   

    Jessica KurschnerThe Recreation Program Educator will teach, facilitate and        otherwise deliver to the public the planned outdoor                    educational based, recreation programs/lessons, and                special events.

Hope Mack - Parks & Recreation Administrative Assistant

Hope Mack

The Parks & Recreation Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting department staff by providing data entry and word processing support. Operational support is also given including registering customers, assisting in marketing of park services and facilities, and collecting and recording revenue.

Julie Wigfield - Parks Reservation Specialist

   The Parks Reservation Specialist will facilitate, coordinate, or       otherwise support the Parks & Recreation department                   reservation processing in the areas of camping sites,                     indoor/outdoor day-use areas, and outdoor recreation                   programming. During the season, this position will provide           first line support and coordination to the seasonal                           campground personnel and employees.

Meg Gumbiner - Parks Communication & Marketing Specialist

Picture - MegThe Parks Communications and Marketing Specialist will perform a variety of public communications tasks such as in the field photo/video collection, print content design, electronic content design, editing web content, development of newspaper content, and attending outdoor programs and special events.
