Beaches

• **Active supervision of children is required at all times**
• Lifeguards are NOT on duty and all beaches are 'swim-at-your-own-risk'. 
• Beaches are open Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day 
• The Department typically contracts with a service provider to conduct treatments twice per season to manage aquatic vegetation in an effort to provide a safe and enjoyable swimming experience.
• During the beach season, the Department administers a water testing program to monitor levels of E.coli bacteria.
• Information on swimmer's itch can be found on the DNR's website.
• Pets are not allowed on the beaches.
• Only US Coast Guard certified floatation devices are allowed.  There are no designated areas for non-certified devices.

Baylor Regional Park

Lake Minnewashta Regional Park

• Changing rooms with showers and restrooms are on site
• Reservable picnic shelters

Lake Waconia Regional Park

• 8170 Paradise Lane, Waconia, MN 55387

 Baylor Regional Park

• At Baylor Regional Park, anglers can fish from the shoreline inside the park boundaries with the exception of the beach area. There is also a fishing pier located next to the beach.  A boat access is available outside of the park on County Road 135 on the east side of Eagle Lake.

Lake Minnewashta Regional Park

• At Lake Minnewashta Regional Park, anglers can fish from shoreline inside the park boundaries with the exception of the beach area. A fishing pier is located just west of the beach. Parking for the fishing pier is provided near the swimming beach.

• There is one paved boat access within the park. The City of Chanhassen has permitted a limit of 35 truck/trailers in the boat access parking area. If boat trailer parking is full, no additional watercraft launching is allowed until a parking site has become available. Fishing from the boat access dock is prohibited per Park Ordinance 91.08. 

Lake Waconia Regional Park

• At Lake Waconia Regional Park, fishing from the shoreline in the park is prohibited due to the current amount of lakeshore available within the park and the potential conflict with beach activities. Boat access is provided at several locations on the lake including the DNR public access located on the park grounds with parking space for 36 vehicles with trailers, and off of County Road 92/Laketown Parkway and County Road 155. 

Lake Bavaria Boat Access

• A dock/launch is available at this boat access.

Fishing Programs Available

• Carver County Parks instructors would love to lead your group in a shoreline or pier fishing adventure where equipment is provided! Please see the Private Group Programming flyer for more information.

Lake Minnewashta & Waconia Regional Parks will offer the following rentals:

• June 8 - August 18, 2024 (dates subject to change) 
• Saturdays and Sundays (weather dependent)
• 11:00am - 4:00pm
  • The last rentals will be distributed at 3pm.
  • Life jackets are required and included with the rental fee.
  • Rentals are first come first served with no reservations.
  • If renter is under the age of 16, adult supervision on the water is required.

Baylor & Lake Waconia Regional Parks will offer the following yard game rentals:

When you are camping at Baylor Regional Park there's always something fun to do! 

• Every Saturday morning from Memorial Day to Labor Day, stop in from 10am-12pm to pick up a free grab-n-go craft bag with activities such as painting kits, sand art, or dream catchers.
