Carver County Planning frequently partners to complete reports and assessments that inform priority topics as identified in the Comprehensive Plan. This pages is a library for the most recently completed reports.
For the 2015–2016 academic year, the University of Minnesota's Resilient Communities Project collaborated with Carver County, City of Chaska, City of Victoria, City of Watertown, Carver County CDA, Carver County Historical Society, Eastern Carver County School District, and SouthWest Transit on 30 projects that engaged dozens of courses at the University of Minnesota and provided hands-on, applied research opportunities to hundreds of graduate, professional, and upper-division undergraduate students. Completed projects related to energy and environmental stewardship, housing opportunities, alternative transportation, human services, community engagement and education, community identity, and effective administration. The Carver County CDA contracted Maxfield Research Inc. to conduct a comprehensive housing needs assessment for Carver County and its communities. Completed in February 2024 |

An assessment of the Carver County roadway system, to identify the deficiencies for non-motorized modes of transportation. Many factors were reviewed to thoroughly assess safety problems for biking and walking along County roadway facilities including crash patterns, vehicle speeds, sight distance/visibility, pedestrian exposure to vehicular traffic, trails, sidewalks, and roadway shoulders. Completed in July, 2011 |
