The Carver County Environmental Center opened in 2002. In that time, it has helped dispose of millions of pounds of hazardous waste, electronics and other hard to dispose of materials in a safe, responsible manner.env_center

Before you make your trip to the Environmental Center, please review the instructions below so we can keep you and our staff safe and make your experience as quick and convenient as possible. If you have questions, give us a call first at (952) 361-1835.

  • For health and safety reasons staff will not be entering vehicles. Materials should be stored in the trunk, truck bed or trailer. Depending on the quantity and nature of your materials, staff may ask you to exit your vehicle and unload your items.
  • If you are dropping off heavy or bulky items (mattress, refrigerator, etc.) please bring assistance to unload these materials from your vehicle.
  • Please have payment ready. Exact change or credit card is preferred.
  • The Product ReUse Room is open during regular hours of operation, listed below.
  • Businesses must call (952) 361-1803 to make an appointment for drop-off. Leave a message with your business name, contact info, and a brief description of the material to be dropped off. Staff will return phone calls to schedule the appointment. Further instructions on the process will be provided at that time.

Residents from the following counties may utilize the Environmental Center for material disposal: Anoka County, Carver County, Dakota County, Hennepin County, McLeod County, Ramsey County, Scott County, and Washington County. Please be prepared to present your driver's license upon arrival. Residents living in counties not listed here should contact their county for disposal options.
