This is a recycle management fee to fund local environmental programs. This fee is charged only to properties with buildings, and is shown in the "Special Assessment" line of the tax statement.
The fee is recommended by the Carver County Public Services Division and reviewed yearly by the Carver County Board of Commissioners to determine funding needs. The fee was increased to $33 from $30 per household for payable 2019 taxes. Commercial and industrial properties vary by size and classification.
This fee supports activities such as the County Environmental Center, illegal dump clean-up, rural recycling programs, and many other related programs. For more information, call Carver County Environmental Services at (952) 361-1800.
