Brief Description for Three Largest Expenditure Areas

  • The $2.79 million in the COVID-19 Budget Stabilization Account (BSA Unallocated) represents County property tax levy dollars available for one-time projects because the COVID-19 Federal Allocation was spent by reimbursing the County for eligible County payroll costs that were included in the County’s 2020 and 2021 operating budgets.
  • The $5.9 million for “Housing Support” will be used by the County’s Community Development Agency (CDA) to help finance the construction of affordable housing in Carver County.
  • The $6.5 million for “Broadband” will be used by CarverLink to expand broadband service to the remaining underserved residents in the County, with a goal for Carver County to be the first county in the State where all residential properties have access to high-speed internet service.
