Great Plains Drill for Rent

The Carver Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) has recently purchased a Great Plains Grain Drill for Carver County landowners to rent out.  The drill is equipped for seeding cover crops, native grasses, small grain, grass and legume.  The drill is also useful in renovating pastures and seeding waterways and filter strips.  The SWCD staff will deliver it to your field, and help you get it all set up and calibrated. 

Great Plains Drill Specifications:

  • 10' plant width, a 75 hp tractor is recommended for planting.
  • 15 row planter with 7.5" row spacing
  • Electronic acre meter included
  • Main box capacity - 23.75 Bushels; Native Grass Box - 10 Bushels; Small Seed Box - 2.4 Bu

Rental rates for the Drill are:
CARVER COUNTY RESIDENTS
: $150 minimum.  14-39 Acres: $12 per acre.  40+ Acres: $10 per acre.
NON CARVER COUNTY RESIDENTS:  $200 minimum.  15+ Acres: $15 per acre.
