State Cost-Share Program

The purpose of this program is to assist land occupiers in offsetting the costs of installing conservation practices where the primary purpose is the control of soil erosion or sedimentation, or protection and improvement of water quality.

Any land occupier including owner, renter, firm, or governmental unit may apply for cost share assistance through the Carver SWCD. In accordance with state guidelines, SWCD's can cost-share with land occupiers at a maximum rate of not more than 75% of the eligible costs of a project.

Primary practices must be designed to meet the purpose of the practice, for an effective like of not less than ten years from the date it is approved for final payment. Eligible primary practices that may be approved by the District Board include:

  • Critical Area Stabilization
  • Diversions
  • Field Windbreaks
  • Grass Waterways
  • Waste Management
  • Riparian Buffer Strips
  • Sediment Retention, Erosion, or Water Control
  • Streambank, Shoreland, and Roadside
  • Strip cropping
  • Terraces
