Home MenuFollow Along Program
The Follow Along child development tracking program is a way for parents of children birth to age 3 to learn about their child's growth and development. Parents can use the program to find out if their child is playing, talking, growing, moving, and acting like other children the same age.
Parents who participate in Follow Along fill out questionnaires related to their child's growth and development when their child reaches age 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 30, and 36 months of age. If the questionnaires or parents identify a growth or development concern, a public health nurse will follow up with the parents. Carver County offers an early intervention program, Help Me Grow, that provides special services and supports to children who may be experiencing challenges in their learning and development.
Public Health offers information on age-appropriate activity sheets, developmental stages and social and emotional development to families, and educational materials that focus on child development, health, safety, reading and parenting. The Carver County Family Resource Guide is also available for families to download or order; it's available in both English and Spanish. Call the Public Health Department at (952) 361-1329 for more information and support in connecting to resources.
