Income Support staff work with the Housing Coordinator in the Behavioral Health Department to complete the Coordinated Entry (CE) assessment process for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing. Coordinated Entry is used to match the housing needs of applicants with appropriate and available resources. The CE waiting list for residents of both Carver County and Scott County is maintained by the County’s Housing Coordinator.

Housing services are provided the CAP Agency and the Carver County Community Development Agency (CDA). Applicants may qualify for the following:

• Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program: Carver County serves as the fiscal agent for this grant-funded program for Carver County and Scott County residents. The program is administered by the CAP Agency. It is for families, youth (ages 18-21), and adults living alone who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing and have a net income at or below 200% of federal poverty guideline. • Group Residential Housing (GRH) - This program is a state-funded income supplement program that pays for room-and-board costs for low-income adults who have been placed in a licensed or registered setting with which a county human service agency has negotiated a monthly rate.

Income support staff also provides information on how to access community resources for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
