Carver Community Connect is a spinoff of the Scott Carver Project Community Connect event that began in 2010.  The concept is based on a national model that provides a one-stop location for direct services to residents who are "living on little," those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  The goal is to expedite the process for receiving services and help as many people as possible get the help they need during a one-day event.  Below is more information about some specific services that will be available at the event.

 

The 2024 event will be held on Wednesday, January 24th from 12:00-6:00 p.m. at the Chaska Event Center at 3210 Chaska Boulevard, Chaska MN 55318.  The date is significant because it is also the date of the annual Point-in-Time count which is an annual count of people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January each year. The data collected helps housing service providers request more funding for future housing programs.

 

 

HOUSING SERVICES

• Coordinated Entry Homeless Assessments or updates to previously completed assessments.
• Housing Search guidance
• Rental assistance information
• Energy Assistance Applications
• Housing Stabilization Service Providers will be present to begin applications.

LEGAL SERVICES

• Hearing Officer - Payable Citation Resolution - Take action to resolve or move forward with your payable citation.  Work with Carver/Scott County Hearing Officer to take care of pending Carver and Scott County payable citations.
• Warrant Resolution - Take action to resolve or move forward with your court case.  Work with a Judge and Court Administration to take care of active Carver County warrants

HEALTHCARE SERVICES

• River Valley Health Services will be on site and able to provide blood pressure screening, lab tests-including hemoglobin, A1C, and cholesterol, and visits with a medical provider.
• MyHealth will be on site to provide STI testing and follow-up treatment.
• Flu and Covid-19 vaccinations will be offered.
• Children's Dental Services will be on site to provide dental services to people of all ages.

SmartLink and SouthWest Transit will provide free transportation to and from the event, please call 952-496-8341 x2 for help arranging a ride.  All requests must be received by 4:30 on January 17^th.
