The Investigations Unit investigates a wide variety of crimes against person and property. The Unit also prepares and executes search warrants, recovers stolen property, collects evidence for use in prosecution, and specializes in computer forensics, which involves the recovery of electronic evidence and data for the purpose of solving cases.
The investigators receive specialized training in investigative techniques, arson investigation, child abuse, computer forensics, white collar crime, interviewing techniques and many other skills.
The investigation assistant is responsible for case management, investigative assistance, predatory offender notifications, vehicle forfeitures, statistical information, and provides assistance to the evidence technician.
