Community Relations Presentations
Sheriff’s deputies or volunteers will attend your meetings or events, offer a presentation, show a squad car, provide a posse horse or other equipment to provide our communities a more comprehensive look at what we do, and some of the tools we employ to provide the services expected of us. If you wish to request an event, please contact the Sergeant of Support Services at (952) 361-1212. Please allow several weeks to schedule personnel - deputies are subject to calls and may not always be available to attend.
Sheriff's Office Dispatch and Jail Tours
Your organization can tour our 911 communications center and jail. Please call-in advance to schedule an appointment at (952) 361-1212. Size and times of tours may be restricted.
Carver County Sheriff's Office Citizen Advisory Council
The Citizen Advisory Council is a collaboration between the Carver County Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Carver County whose purpose is to promote productive law enforcement through involvement of citizens in the decision making process. It also will discuss/recommend procedures, technologies, or community engagement initiatives to foster better community outreach. The council will help define community norms and expectations of the Sheriff’s Office, offer feedback on policy updates or changes and offer feedback on current policies to build a more efficient and effective agency and keep the Sheriff apprised of actions taken by the department that will create community concern or controversy. The Council will assist building a stronger relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and the community it serves.

TRIAD
TRIAD is a partnership between law enforcement, the community and senior citizens working together to keep our senior citizens safe. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office TRIAD program will help provide presenters and support for events, proactive coordination of events and topics for discussion.
Medicine Take Back Program
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office participates in the Medicine Take Back Initiative. This initiative is a cooperative effort with the Carver County Attorney's Office, Carver County Sheriff's Office, Carver County Public Health, and Office of Aging. Twice a year we conduct a collection event which moves to various sites in the county to enhance accessibility for our citizens.
Permanent Medicine Take Back Boxes
Permanent medication drop off boxes are located at the Sheriff's Office in Chaska, Chanhassen City Hall and Waconia City Hall.
We will accept any medications or drugs for disposal. We DO NOT collect syringes and sharp items.
Do NOT place vaping devices, e-cigarettes, etc. in the disposal box. These devices are accepted at the Carver County Environmental Center located at:
