The Communication Services Division is comprised of a communication services manager, PSAP (public safety answering point) supervisors, 911 dispatchers, terminal agency coordinator (TAC), warrant specialist, operating under the leadership of the Commander of Emergency Management and Communication Services.

What is Communication Services?

Communication Services represents the citizen's method of contacting the emergency 9-1-1 Center. The county-wide 800 MHz radio system is a national model and continues to accommodate the needs of the county.  A 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week operation demands adequate supervision and staffing for this critical operation.

 Getting to Know Carver County 911 Dispatch

Carver County is pleased to announce a new service to 911!  Text-to-911 is LIVE and operational in the State of Minnesota for those who are unable to call and speak to 9-1-1.  This improves 911’s ability to serve the deaf/hard of hearing community and provides another option to contact 911 in situations when it is unsafe to make a phone call.  Calling 911 in an emergency is still the fastest way to access emergency services, but now you are able to text if you can’t call.  For more information, please see the attached Text To 911 Fact Sheet and helpful links.  If you have additional questions, call the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number (952) 361-1231.
